IULS Mission

The mission of ”Ion Ionescu de la Brad” Iasi University of Life Sciences (IULS) is grounded in the principle of advanced education and research, conducted through a rigorous process of teaching, learning, and assessment, focused on training high-quality specialists in the fields of plant, animal, and food resource engineering, environmental engineering, biology, and veterinary medicine. The university takes responsibility for preparing graduates capable of integrating scientific, technical, and humanistic knowledge into a democratic society, contributing to economic, technological, and socio-cultural progress, as well as to the development of a free and democratic rule-of-law state.

Through this mission, IULS aims to strengthen an integrated system of education and research, where bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs align with national and international standards, and the teaching and research infrastructure provides optimal conditions for knowledge generation, innovation, and technology transfer. In this context, the university attracts and promotes faculty and researchers of high scientific value, as well as talented young people, to ensure the continuity of academic excellence and the relevance of applications in agriculture, the food industry, environmental protection, and veterinary medicine.

Explicitly, in fulfilling its mission, IULS fosters an environment of excellence and collaboration, promoting the continuous modernization of the curriculum, technical-material base, and educational processes, as well as the development of research institution networks and partnerships with socio-economic actors domestically and abroad. Through transparent management, support for lifelong learning, and strengthening the university community, IULS consolidates its role as a central academic actor in regional, national, and European development, within the framework of European integration and adaptation to labor market needs and the market economy.
