1. Required documents for requesting ethical approval
   Each research project/study must be accompanied by the following three mandatory documents:
   • Application for ethical approval, completed and signed by the principal investigator;
   • Declaration of compliance with national and international regulations on research ethics;
   • Research/Study protocol, including a clear description of the methodology, subjects/participants, procedures, and data collection and analysis.
2. Submission procedure
   • All documents must be submitted by email to the Vice-Dean for Scientific Affairs at: dragos.anita@iuls.ro
   • The subject line of the email must read: “Request for ethical approval – [Title of the research]”
   • Documents should be attached in PDF format
     
3. Evaluation of the application
   • The evaluation process begins upon receipt of a complete application
   • The decision (ethical approval) of the Research Ethics Committee will be communicated to the applicant via their institutional email address
   • The Committee may request additional information or clarifications, if necessary
4. Validity period of the ethical approval
   • The ethical approval is valid for the specified duration of the study
   • For long-term research projects, the applicant is required to submit semi-annual progress reports on the implementation of the study and any protocol modifications that may affect ethical principles
5. Eligibility to request ethical approval
   • Ethical approval may be requested by academic staff, researchers, or employees of USV Iași, members of the academic community
   • Undergraduate and doctoral students are not permitted to submit requests directly; the application must be submitted by the responsible academic supervisor
6. Supporting documents
   • Directive 2010/63/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 September 2010 on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes
   • Law No. 43/2014 on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes, as amended (2019)
   • Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals
