Iasi University of Life Sciences (IULS) is a specialized institution of superior agronomic and veterinary medicine training, financed by the state and having as fundamental mission the training of agricultural, horticultural and animal sciences engineers, agricultural economists, engineers in food industry, biologists, as well as veterinary doctors.
Our university is a serious academic partner, recognized by many European universities and institutions in the field of activity. We have 159 people as part of our teaching staff and research teams, who are teaching over 4200 students. Our academic offer provides courses from domains of study of national and international applicability, high-quality training, scientific research performance, access to modern facilities and equipment and also opportunities to participate in study and practice European mobility programmes, which all serve to build successful careers for all our students.
The vision of ”Ion Ionescu de la Brad” Iasi University of Life Sciences (IULS) is to be a national leader in higher education and scientific research in the fields of plant, animal, and food resource engineering, environmental engineering, and veterinary medicine, while simultaneously holding a top position among European universities.
This involves training high-quality graduates to meet labor market demands and the challenges of sustainable development in the agricultural, food, and environmental sectors, through innovative research supported by international collaborations, European projects, and technology transfer, along with integration into European networks and partnerships with prestigious institutions. Thus, USV Iași aspires to become a reference university, recognized for academic excellence and impact in agriculture, food industry, environment, and veterinary medicine, contributing to regional and national sustainable development.
The mission of ”Ion Ionescu de la Brad” Iasi University of Life Sciences (IULS) consists of advanced education and research through rigorous teaching and training of specialists in plant, animal, and food resource engineering, environment, biology, and veterinary medicine, prepared to integrate scientific knowledge into a democratic society for economic, technological, and socio-cultural progress. USV strengthens an integrated study system (bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral) aligned with international standards, with infrastructure for innovation and technology transfer, attracting excellent faculty and talented youth. Thus, it promotes curriculum modernization, national/international partnerships, and transparency, positioning itself as a central actor in regional, national, and European development, adapted to the labor market.
